Linde ADDvance™ O2 precision Progressive Gas Management for Additive Manufacturing

Additive Manufacturing doesn't start or end on the powder bed. Before and after you fuse metal powder into whatever shape you desire, several independent procedures make sure that your workpieces come out as strong and consistent as you need them to be. And because all of these steps require high-end gases and solutions, Linde Gas is the perfect partner to support you from first idea to final product.

1. Atomizing

When metal is atomized into metal powder, only the proper atmosphere guarantees a pure granulate material with the correct particle size and shape. This is necessary to provide high-quality results, even where complex shapes are involved. A great print requires great base material – which is why our know-how in gases is the perfect foundation for powder metallurgy.

2. Printing

Powder bed fusion AM is carried out in an enclosed atmosphere. Every metal requires a different, well-defined and consistent gas composition within the chamber. Only the correct gas composition gives you a consistent printing quality. And only Linde has the gas, equipment and cutting-edge technology that ensure a flawless and reproducible print every time.

3. Heat Treatment and Hot Isostatic Pressing

Heat treatment and Hot Isostatic Pressing consolidates the internal structure of your products after printing. A pure and uniform atmosphere within the oven is needed to avoid unwanted particulate absorption. This ensures that you get the precise material properties you require. Linde Gas application technologies improve annealing and hot isostatic pressing of your workpieces, for high-density results with no internal stress.

4. Cleaning

Your perfect finish requires high-end surface cleaning. Our CRYOCLEAN® process uses dry iceto blast powder residues and other unwanted substances from your workpieces – gently, efficiently, eco-friendly and without costly cleaning-related downtimes. It's how a great AM product becomes perfect – and just one of many reasons why we're the ideal partner for every production step from raw material to refined product.
